The average cost per visit at Community Care Center projected for 2009 is $50.  46% of our visits are for specialty care.  The above average cost per visit includes medicines, lab tests, x-rays/ultrasounds, physical therapy, and 400 dental visits (including some oral surgery).  It does not include diabetes education/case management and the cost of our case worker, which are grant-funded.

 The value of medicines in 2009 to patients of Community Care Center will be around $4 million dollars, or $200 per patient visit.  We provide 95% of the medicines patients need.  We spend $100,000 per year from our budget to buy medicines that we cannot secure through the medication assistance programs of pharmaceutical companies.

Our Return on Investment is 6 to 1 ($6 returned for every $1 invested) for CCC only and 7 to 1 when Med-Aid is included.  According to the North Carolina Association of Free Clinics, the average return on investment for North Carolina Free Clinics in 2008 was 4.82 to 1.
